Hoodia: CITES Permits
February 28th, 2008
There is something very important that anyone who is thinking about using Hoodia should learn about the product: CITES. A CITES permit is required to take the product out of the country, yet there are many companies who choose to illegally access the extract or who substitute the extract, simply calling it Hoodia when it is not. Any company who is selling real Hoodia, created from the extract of the Hoodia gordonii plant, will have a CITES permit displayed prominently.
If you are looking to buy a Hoodia product from a company who does not have their permit displayed on their website, please contact them! It is vital to know who you are dealing with, and if you are dealing with a company who does not have legal access to the product, or who is using a product that isn’t real, you may not want to purchase the product. Not only would you be contributing to a company who is only out to benefit themselves, you would also be purchasing a product that will not help you to lose weight. Hoodia can help you lose weight, but make sure that you look for a CITES permit before you buy from any company.
