Many of the products you will find in your local drug store that claim to be Hoodia products are, in fact, not. They are made using parts of the Hoodia plant that do not contain the extract necessary, or they have so little of the extract in them that they do not help with true weight loss. If you do happen to find a real Hoodia product in your local drug store, the cost may be prohibitive. Real Hoodia is not cheap, and the drug store markup makes them almost too expensive to purchase. Hoodia products online, however, do not have the markup, and are often sold from parts of the country where things are less expensive, giving you the benefit of being able to have real Hoodia without the expensive price tag.
