Hoodia and Testing
March 14th, 2008
Would you purchase a car that you knew hadn’t been crash tested? Probably not. Would you purchase a fire extinguisher that came from a company who had never tested their products? Definitely not. Testing is extremely important, which is why the company who released Hoodia chose to do a lot of testing before it was made available to the public. The first trial that was done on Hoodia was done on rats. The laboratory gave rats a little bit of the extract from the Hoodia Gordonii plant and watched, amazed, as the rats stopped eating.
Rats are known to eat just about anything, and even to eat themselves sick, so to see rats stop eating simply because of Hoodia was a great surprise to the scientists. Another round of testing was done to humans, with all volunteers promising to only eat, watch t.v., and read during their confinement on Hoodia. Half of the volunteers were given a placebo, while another half were given Hoodia. The ones who were given Hoodia had begun to eat 1,000 calories a day less than they were eating when the testing began, proving that Hoodia is an amazing weight loss product.
