Hoodia: Secrets and Discoveries
March 13th, 2008
It was an amazing day when the scientists who traveled to South Africa to study the San Bushmen discovered the Hoodia Gordonii plant. This spiny plant that resembles a cactus had been used by their tribe for centuries as a way to stave off hunger and thirst when they had to travel long distances, especially during hunting. They took pieces of the plant back to their labs and did some testing to discover the P57 molecule.
This molecule, which has so far been discovered to come only from the Hoodia Gordonii plant, tricks our body into believing that it is full. It speaks to the hypothalamus, which is the part of the brain that says if you need to eat or not, and makes it believe that you are full. All of the studies on Hoodia have proven that it works as well as the San Bushmen said it does, stopping hunger from occurring in almost all cases and helping people to achieve dramatic weight loss, even those who have been referred to a surgeon for weight loss surgery. Hoodia is not magic, but is science, and fortunately for the world, it was discovered in the heart of the South African desert.
